Join us on Tuesday, November 27th all day for #GivingTuesday!
But what is it?
Here’s the official definition from the creators…
‘Giving Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.’
And here’s what it means right here at home in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry Counties:
A chance to join us in achieving Our Vision:
That we all live in a community free from poverty.
We’re well on our way in helping you, your neighbors, coworkers, and friends in achieving self-sufficiency by providing a hand up rather than a hand out. We help our clients to chart the course to success and achieve a life outside of assistance and programs, where they can stand on their own two feet, and escape from poverty.
And we invite you to join us in this ever important work. You donation for Giving Tuesday can make a world of difference to a single father struggling to re-connect with his family, or a family who must choose between paying for the electricity bill or putting food on the table, and it can be everything for a young parent unable to balance time between their children and working three jobs.
Every donation, big or small, helps us in the “war against poverty” – and we hope you’ll join us.
