Roberta or ‘Ms. Bobbi’ as she prefers to be called, came to TCCA while she was in a crisis. Unexpectedly she met Erica during her lunch hour and had begun a conversation with what she thought was a perfect stranger. “Erica was so easy to talk to. There was no judgment about why I needed help, or even that I needed it. And Erica knows her stuff.”
Our Case Management team helped Ms. Bobbi to get caught up on her electric bill through our OnTrack program. They covered budgeting, energy usage, and how to best spend the few dollars she had. It was because of this that Ms. Bobbi was able to retain electric service at her home, and because most municipalities will consider a property without electricity service to be ‘uninhabitable’, Ms. Bobbi was able to stay in her home.
With this budget in place, and Bobbi taking steps to adhere to it and monitor her energy usage, she was able to catch up on her late water bill and property taxes too. Her next step, tackling her student loans. “I am so relieved and blessed to have connected with your case manager, I have a little more money in the bank and I am so happy I listened to Erica and came to see her.”
